Road Trip!

Intensive Spanish Weekend!

Kris & I went on another adventure today. We picked a small town because it said they were having a "Machacado" Festival. Yep, we drove for about an hour to a village that was advertising its "Dried Beef & Egg Dish" Festival. It was a quaint little town, but once again, we were too early for the party.

We were so excited to see the real "Mexico"!

An 1847 Church in the centre of town.

A side street in Cienega de Flores.

Northern Mexico's famous cuisine - "Cabrito" - Roasted Lamb.

We got home, and had dinner at Bennigan's with our friend Laurie and her boyfriend, who is Mexican, so we spoke more Spanish!

The next day, we went to David Cisnero's church (Kris' parents' friend from Haggai!). It was a tiny church, with a tin roof and cement floors, about 30 minutes drive from where we live. We may have finally found where the regular Monteregios live.

After 2 hours of Biblical Spanish, I then went to play in my first Mexican softball game. Again, more Spanish, but it was a ton of fun.

We're exhausted. We just got ice cream, and its good to be home.
