The drama never ends

It's Funny When...

So I innocently went off shopping with some of the other teachers yesterday. Out of nowhere, I find out that my boss has been gossiping about me to my colleagues. That alone may be reason as to why this is the weirdest place I've ever worked at.

But nope. Today at school, we get an email around noon: "We are happy to have joined the Meritas Family. Please come to a meeting this afternoon [at the other campus - a 20 minute drive] at 4pm."

My first thought: Okay, it's like IASAS - we'll have other schools to play sports with, etc. I brushed it aside, but after school, as I was planning with Amber, another Second Grade teacher, a third colleague walks in, and informs us that she is the representative at the meeting with Meritas tomorrow. "Okay...," I thought, "So....?" And she then proceeds to tell us that our school has been sold!

We didn't actually hear it from the horse's mouth until later that day. Aaah... the lifestyle of the Mexicans...

I looked the company up on the website since our school has been saying how it's like a chain of "5 star hotels" but of course, with schools instead. They have 6 schools - including us. Strike up another point for Corporate America.

On a less weird note, I learned to bunt tonight. I can't believe I've never tried before! I also added another word to my growing list of Spanish vocab. I learned the words "Que huva" or something like that, and if you say it quickly, like "Quvale", then it means "Very good!"

An interesting day, to say the least.
