Around Town

We went out and got supper tonight by buying food from different stands around Dashe. We don’t often just walk around, so this was a nice change of pace.

The ever popular BBQ Duck Head stand.                              A nighttime street scene in Dashe.

Above, from left to right: A chewy white goo/onion pancake stand; The chewy white goo (very yummy); Fried milk stand (incredibly yummy!); While we were buying the fried milk, this random guy came around with a bamboo steamer of dumplings and was offering them to us for free. We had never encountered something so strange and what was weirder was when he pointed out that he had a whole van of them. We weren’t brave enough to try one… it was a little too reminiscent of the free “brownies” in Bangkok.

Our favourite dumpling place is shown above. Most little restaurants have their kitchens right outside their stores.
