Supply Wars - Oct 5

This will be brief...for more details, email. :)

"Do we need to bring any supplies with us from home?"
"What's our supply budget?"
"Will we get reimbursed for things we buy outside?"

All valid questions, we presumed. All met with similar responses:
"Don't worry about that - we have plenty of stuff down here, and you don't have to worry about budgets... there's a 'limit', but it's all pretend - if you go over, they'll just increase it..."

After a few more attempts at finding out what the "budget" is, because I hate going over budgets, we gave up, and got stuff we needed to start our classrooms.

Apparently, we were too trusting once again.

Meritas bought us, and oh, silly people... a business buys a business and expects them to stick to the budget they purchased?! So now, we pay the price - apparently we are all way over our budgets and can't get anymore things for awhile. So no more pens for marking, no more staples, no more paper... no more anything - we're supposed to ask the kids' parents (who are already paying a small fortune to send their kids here) for stuff we need, or buy stuff with our colleagues' accounts.

Should for-profit business and education mix? I'm still not convinced yet.
