Stand Up against Poverty

We stood up against poverty today and helped make a Guiness Book of World Record - 23,542,614 stood up around the world.

I organized it (with lots of help and suggestions from my friend Emilie) at the Valle Alto campus.

Several classes came and we pledged to remind the UN to keep their Millenium Goal promises. See http://www.standagainstpoverty.org/ for more details.

Official Guinness Verification:
The world record for the most people to 'Stand Up Against Poverty' in 24 hours was set on 15 - 16 October 2006 for the United Nation's Millennium Campaign and involved a massive total of 23,542,614 participants in 11,646 events around the globe.
