I just went around Dashe today with a friend and Kaeden. It was so nice to stroll around and see the village - although I felt like my life was endangered many a time by the flying scooters and trucks.
As we went by the shops, many a store owner came out to see Kaeden. They all thought he was beautiful. At one store, they actually ran out after us so they could all take a good look at him. We ended up at the post office so I could claim my winnings on a receipt, and the information lady apparently recognized me! She said she couldn't believe she hadn't seen me in so long - that the last time she saw me was when I was pregnant with Kaeden. Then, I got the same bank teller that I wrote about in a previous post about the post office. He is STILL the nicest service guy I've ever met!
We also got some yummy tea and baked goods...
But now I smell like smoke.
Why?
Because apparently, I picked a day that's another ghost-month-like day. All the offering tables were set out all over the village, and people were burning ghost money in a frenzy. A few times, I had to choose whether to possibly get burned by the intense heat of these cauldrons or be run over by a speeding pick-up truck.
I love living here.
