Another Taiwan Moment

Janice & I were walking in Nanzih (the town that's next to Dashe, and is like "the city" as it actually has a McDonald's!) the other day (this was actually way back in September), and came across a roadblock. You have to understand that there are usually no sidewalks in Taiwan, and if there are, they're at different levels and generally have signs, merchandise, scooters or various animals blocking your path anyway.

So we weren't too shocked to have to make a detour - until we noticed that there was a giant hole in the ground filled with gross muddy water - and two people floating in it! They were fixing some water pipe thing and these two guys had no special gear on AT ALL.
