In a Heartbeat

This was a post I wrote on September 10, 2008:

In a heartbeat, so much can change.
With a heartbeat, so much more can change.

Milestones:
  • We heard the heartbeat of our little one today! It was very fast and very exciting. I've never seen Kris so thrilled!
  • He/she has has now graduated from "Spot" to "Blob"
  • Successfully navigated a brand new hospital - you have to understand that the Taiwanese health system, while more efficient than Canada's, is more like the Amazing Race/Scavenger Hunt - health card at every station, stamps and papers at every station - our hunt went something like this: Basement to First Floor to Second Floor to First Floor to Second Floor to First Floor. But everything was done - blood tests, pee-in-a-cup (literally) tests, ultrasounds, and purchase of medicine!
We're excited, although now that we're discussing, I seem to have been more thrilled at our wedding, whereas Kris is incredibly way more excited about our Blob than he was about where to have our wedding feast.

My prayers for this little one come from these verses:

Psalm 121:7-8 - The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming & going both now and forevermore.

Psalm 127:3-5a - Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

Thank God for the heartbeat.
