Surprise Visitor

Bjorn came to visit!!!

Our first visitor that was a direct friend!! He was making his way up from Guatemala (crazy guy - all the way by bus), and so he included us into his travel plans! It was so much fun seeing him after all these years. We took him everywhere, and even convinced him to teach a class about social justice since he just started a relief aid organization called "Renegaid".

We took him to the Huastecas...

and made him climb it.

The three of us in the windy gorge of the Huastecas.

Bjorn's looking right at home at the TEC's med school.

We thought Bjorski would be up for some cabrito, or baby goat,
which is one of Monterrey's specialties.

Many "Regiomontanas" love this dish - cabeza de cabrito (or baby goat head).

On Sunday, we took him to "La Cola de Caballo", or
Horsetail Falls. This is us being silly!

Afterwards, we stopped off at "Cha Cho's", infamous for its
Take-out-only-giant-5-shots-per-glass-alcoholic-drinks. I think
Kris got the "Hurricane" and Bjorn got the "Tormenta" or something like that!
They spent about 6 hours finishing them.

Bjorn the teacher:

I scammed Bjorn into coming in as a guest speaker. He taught 3 classes!!!
The kids loved him as "Mr. Oso."

Learning about justice:20% of the class receiving 80% of
the "wealth" - represented by the best source
of wealth for kids - candy! They ended up with 17 pieces each.

Another 20% of the class received only a 1/4 of a piece. The
rest of the class got 1 piece each. When the wealthy didn't want or couldn't
eat all their candy, Mr. Oso threw them in the garbage! The looks
on the kids' faces were priceless!

After the lesson, Mr. Oso hanging with my class.

We loved having you visit!!! We miss you!
