We had such a wonderful time in Queretaro visiting Fernando and his family. Fernando was an exchange student in Elbow, living with Kris' family way back in 1989. After that, they saw each other once every year for a couple years. We calculated and it had been about 16/17 years since they last saw each other! The Saldanas were great hosts. Paula's mom cooked so much for us, and their kids were awesome. Thank you for the wonderful visit, Fernando, Paula, Valentina, and Juliana!!!!
The entrance to the Saldanas' incredibly gorgeous house!
Fernando and Valentina in their living room.
On Saturday, they took us downtown to eat these great pizzas.
Then, Fernando took us on a tour of old Queretaro.
The fountain in the main plaza.
These are the old aqueducts that stretch for miles, and are
now integrated into modern-day infrastructure.
It seems we adopted a child for the day!
Valentina, the tour guide. She also purchased some gum for me.
We also stopped off at Fernando's business - "Fernanda Herba".
A little advertising for Fernando's banquet supply-renting biz!
Fernando, hard at work!
Hanging at their house, Marion with baby Juliana.
The view from our room's balcony.
Fernando and Kris, playing on computers.
Seems like Juliana is having a great time!

Gourmet breakfast made by Paula's mom. First
of two courses!!! This was also only one of many great
meals we had.
The boys are back together again. And drinking green
beer on St. Patty's Day at the local Mexican-Irish pub!
