Was Tucson ever fun, but our drive from California to Arizona was also an adventure in itself! We passed by probably the largest variety of scenery I have ever seen in the short 6 hour journey. From green fields of crops to desert dunes to rocky hills and craggy cliffs, we saw everything except for the kitchen sink (oh, and water).

Through thick fog...

...past weird mountains of rock piles...

...past luscious green fields...

...through crazy sandstorms...

...past giant sand dunes...

...and beautiful mountain ranges.

We finally reached Arizona after several hours!

We then drove and drove and drove.... and watched in amazement at the developing storm.

One of my favourites... the powerline looks like a Cross.

In Tucson, we lucked out and got an AWESOME resort room (king bed with a sitting room, wet bar, an extremely large bedroom, poolside, and a view of the PGA Open Golf Course) at rock bottom prices.
Our room was just right off of this awesome pool (Omni Tucson Resort & Spa).

View of the golf course - free driving range in our "backyard"!

The next day, we went out for a drive to see the desert. Arizona is famous for its Saguaro Cactus! We drove to the Sonora Desert Museum - it is probably one of the coolest museums we've ever been to.

Saguaro Cactus Forest

A view of the Sonoran Desert landscape

At the museum - a very cuddly black bear.

Natives to the desert - Javelinas!

"What did the black & white version of a flamingo say to the parrot?"

The Prairie Dog - we could have watched them for hours!

Beautiful tree.

Hummingbird sanctuary - they were so fast!

We saw this Mexican Wolf wandering outside of the Old Tucson Studios.

Marion & the Saguaro.
