We arrived in Oceanside in the dark and couldn't figure out where the Deu household was. But in true "Deu" style, we finally found it because Josh was out in his garage with the light on, "Armor-All"-ing a white leather couch he had found in on the street, preparing it for sale.

We stayed up catching up with him and Emily, and drifted off to a dreamy sleep on an inflated air mattress. However, when we woke up, it was no longer so dreamy - the air mattress leaked, but those are things that make good memories...

Josh & Em have spent the last year living a dream - a house right on the beach - constant sun, sand and surf...

On Sunday, Kris & Josh left early in the morning to catch some waves. They came back exhausted and sore.

We went and got some In & Out burgers, did a little shopping, and tried to exchange US dollars for Mexican Pesos (apparently that is unheard of, as we were scoffed our way out of the bank!).
Then, Emily & I hit the waves with the boys. Starting off timidly on a boogie board, I eventually got the nerve to try out surfing! It was SO much fun! I managed to get up on my knees, but I'm willing to try it again to do it properly :)!

We went home, rinsed off, watched the sunset on the beach, got some ice cream (with coupons, of course! :)) , and then had a nice walk along a beautiful pier.

The next morning, we got up nice and early, and do what the Knutsons do best - move other people! So we hauled Emily & Josh's stuff to a Storage place, before a treat from them at an awesome Thai restaurant in town.
Thanks Em & Josh for the wonderful visit. We had a great time - plus I finally got my autographed Arcade Fire CD - no George Foreman grill though! :)
