the Welcome sign, along with the kids' stash of supplies.
Meeting the Parents
The day before school starts: Parents and their children come wandering in, anytime between 7:45am until 2pm to drop off the massive amounts of books and supplies that are required by the school. And our job? Apparently to give them information about picking up and dropping off their kids, asking them to cover their books with plastic (different kinds for different books), and checking that they have all billion items. Most of the parents only spoke Spanish, and I probably looked like an idiot, always trying to talk, but having no Spanish coming out of my mouth. Oh well... thank goodness I had a TA. Otherwise, I would have had no clue as to what I was doing. Only a few more hours till the kidlets come in for real.

Our carpet area - has our calendar, poems, and our writing tree.
