Easter in Vietnam - Part THREE - Mui Ne

Picture Perfect Resort

Honeymoon - Take Three. It finally worked. We've been trying to go AWAY on a honeymoon (we did have a nice couple of days in Niagara-on-the-Lake the first time, but we've been trying for a longer honeymoon ever since).

Attempt one: Honduras. Lots of money, stranded on an island, sick as a dog.

Attempt two: Cancun. Lots of money, okay time.

If you ever want to hear about Honduras, it's definitely a story! In any case, honeymoon attempt number three happened in Vietnam. We stayed at this beautiful resort (Victoria) in Mui Ne, about four hours east of Saigon. It was an amazing deal and it was one of those resorts that you see in pictures, but it actually looked better than in the photos when we got there! We had what was basically a private beach, our own terrace, and two swimming pools - there were almost no people around.

Bugambilias abounded!

Our breakfast nook

Our suite was a private bungalow, complete with this ultra
large bathroom with 2 sinks, a giant bathtub, and an outdoor
shower which you can see through the glass doors.

One of two pools we hung out at.

The infinity pool was beautiful - we were eating
lunch and Kris couldn't take it anymore so he
jumped right in!

Mui Ne is still a little fishing village. These are all boats owned
by different companies with assigned fishing waters. If you don't
belong in that particular area of the water, hooks come out (seriously!)

These round boats are still used today to go out
to their bigger boats.

Not much tanning at the beach here - just
some nice fresh barbecued seafood!

The gas station in town.

In Mui Ne, you'll find these magnificent
sand dunes. It really felt like we were out in the desert.

Some of my favourite flowers in southeast Asia:
