Bucket List

Okay, so I don't officially have a bucket list. Well, I do, but it's still in my head and likely to stay there forever. Watch out. This blog post is intense and incredibly insightful.

But one of the items on my imaginary list is:

Direct a play.

I did it. I directed a play. I volunteered to help out with the church musical, and I ended up with the title of Drama Director.

The other item on my list is:

Act in a play (or take an acting class).

Aside from the small (okay, HUGE) fear of being rejected at auditions, I have delayed this item with a plethora of excuses:
- I can't be out every night rehearsing and performing.
- I don't have a monologue, nor do I know which one to practice.
- I don't have any sort of acting skills.

And my best one so far:
- I don't know what to do with a role that requires kissing. While presumptuous, since with my lack of experience, I'd be lucky to get the non-moving tree part, I've actually talked with my husband about this last point many a time. The conclusion:
1. I don't want to kiss a random person.
2. My husband doesn't want to watch me kiss a random person.
3. And even if #1 & #2 weren't true, would I REALLY want to invite my parents to watch me kiss some other person?

So... anyone want me to audition?
