Kenting Retreat

In September, our school gave the staff an amazing retreat at a resort in Kenting, the southern beach area of Taiwan. We played basketball, swam at the pool, played in the arcade, went shopping at the nightmarket, and Kris closed down a KTV joint - all by himself. He went at night with a bunch of Chinese teachers to sing karaoke, and they all left to go to the nightmarket, so he ended up singing by himself!!

Matt, Kris, & Carl - notice Kris' awesome score!!!

The Wheel O' Death - Kris & Matt both rode on these
wheels. You had to bike yourself around, all under your
own power, so that eventually you could go around the loop.
Matt managed to do it over 30 times before he finally stopped
himself!

Kris & one of our former students rode the teacup ride.
It went on and on and on and on...

I went out to the nightmarket with two other girls, and we came upon this little outdoor bar and the guy had this game. If you could ride this mini-bike in a circle 3 times, he would give you a shot of tequila. Second round was if you could ride the mini-bike from the bar to the next traffic light and back in a certain time, you would get another shot. Third round was riding the bike on a very thin plank/see-saw. Final round was to do a figure eight within this circle that was drawn on the ground. Christina & I both tried and couldn't even get both feet onto the pedals!
