We Got Mail!

Finally, some good ol' fashioned mail arrived for us!

It was a postcard from none other than the Village of Elbow. We were pretty ecstatic to receive an invitation for the Centennial celebration in 2009 - all the way here in Taiwan. All I ask for is an announcement in the Outlook if we are there (and we hope to be there!).

Not much else is new - typhoons abound - another one is about to hit this weekend. We had one earlier this week, although it pretty much slid by us. Unfortunately, it canceled our oh-so-exciting-air-raid-drill. The kids were pretty disappointed they had to go to class instead.

We did go on our staff retreat last week to Kenting. It was really fun. Kris had an especially good time. He recruited all these Chinese teachers and their spouses, and had them all go to KTV. His first time in Kenting, where there's a beautiful beach and the ocean, and he goes to sing songs. He eventually closed down the place - all by himself. All the other teachers had left, and he stayed until their time was up! He's now pretty infamous for that. We also did several other things that I'll post up in another blog when I put up photos. It was a fun time.
