Tainan, from the first I knew that I liked the place. We even got the highway to ourselves, except for the police escort of course. (Someone told us later the escort was for a high rankning official, but i don't believe it.)
As were walking through Tainan we disovered a very small path. It was quite surprising really. We were walking along, minding our own business when suddenly we were face to face with two people coming out of this hole in the wall. Being the avid explorers that we are we ventured into this small bend in time and space and found at the other side... a street.
This guy was really neat, he spent all of his time creating grass sculptures.
Deep in thought, Mark ponders the existance of a better grass grasshopper.
In front of this ancient park and temple, the spirit of "Kung Foo" erupted. Two might warriors faced off in an epic battle.
The temple was beautiful. There were many courtyards and nooks and crannies to explore.
There is a story behind the lion dance, Marion tells me. She just can't remember what it is.
Marion is on the bottom, I am on the top. Look closely.
Marks first "Squid on a stick". Mmm, delicious.
A day at the market is not complete without shooting something.
This is one of the delicacies from Tainan. It is called a Coffin Cake. It is bread shaped like a coffin, filled with goo (corn, goo, and other vegetables), then the lid is slapped on. Enjoy. It is delicious.
This is one of the old buildings from the old streets of Tainan.
Action pose!
We held the pose too long.
We love our new school. The staff are really friendly.
