Great Ending to a Great Trip

Wow. Have you ever had a dream come true? After 13 years of wishing and hoping that one day I would get to meet my all-time hero and favourite baseball player, the dream came true. It was completely unexpected and took all of my nerves and guts to approach him. Years of figuring out what I would say if I ever got to meet him all went down the drain. I have never been like this with ANYONE that is famous. I could care less about most "stars." I've met a bunch of them... Eric Lasalle, Ron Howard, etc., I can't even remember who else, but I've never been nervous and sort of woozy before! :).

But today, as I was wandering around the airport in Cancun, I spotted someone who I thought looked really familiar. I paused to think of who it could be, then followed him around a bit to see if I could get a clue to confirm my suspicions. After several trips back and forth between him and Kris, I finally convinced Kris to come with me. So, lugging our large backpacks, I approached him and asked, "Um... you kinda look like Paul Molitor... are you?" To which he kindly replied, "Yes, that's me." We talked for a bit, but I was so nervous that I could only sputter silly things like crazy fans often do. I took a photo with him and that was that.
Marion and Paul Molitor!

Now I know what far-fetched dreams coming true feels like. I was in ecstasy and sort of still am.
It was a blessing. An out-of-the-blue blessing. And a wonderful way to end this year's Christmas vacation.
