We Didn't See Arnie...

Arriving: Sacramento, California. Mileage: 7956.9km

We didn't get to see the Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, but we did get to see Marion's good friend Tim. He's also another person from Taiwan, and also, another person who she hasn't seen in 6 years!
We were greeted with his usual knock, letting us know he hasn't changed much at all :). A phone was shoved in Marion's face, and she had to play a guessing game.... It turned out it was another good friend from Taiwan - Lukey Dookey. But, unfortunately, he was still in Philly. It was really good talking to you Luke! It's been way too long since I've seen you!
Tim treated us for supper at a Mongolian BBQ restaurant. It was so good, except Californians have got their iced tea all wrong... Iced tea is supposed to have sugar! He then played tour guide, driving us all over Sacramento. He took us to his future workplace, the Capitol, which is a beautiful building. (In case you didn't know, Tim is now a powerful politician at his university :))

Arnie's new home: Sacramento Capitol

Tim, Marion & Kris
(Tim - we're expecting you to take us up on the burrito and mountain climbing offer in Monterrey!)

We then went to Old Sacramento, which is a neat place with old wooden buildings and wooden sidewalks, that sold touristy things like "Gold nugget" chocolates.
The best part of the whole trip was seeing an old friend again and catching up on each others' lives. I really do miss Taiwan, and being able to allow Kris to meet people from a really great time in my life has truly been a wonderful blessing.
