Sun, Sun, Sun

We Became Resort People!

Boy, are we ever spoiled. We're back from Puerto Vallarta, and we're complaining about how cold it is in Monterrey. Only a high of 15 C....

We had a great time at the Canto del Sol Puerto Vallarta Resort over the weekend. We flew out on Saturday morning, and spent Saturday and Sunday night doing nothing much except sitting by the pool. The beach in Puerto Vallarta is okay, but not great, and if you were poolside you can "all-you-can-eat/drink!" Of course, Kris drank my share again, while I ate his.

The pool and the bar where we spent a lot of time!

We managed to get our hands on a ticket to use at the specialty restaurants they have there, and it was AMAZING. We went to the Mexican restaurant and had a fantastic meal, ending with "Mexican" coffee - basically liqueur-filled coffee. But the show to make it was just wonderful - the lights are turned out and flaming alcohol is tossed around.

The flaming alcohol for the Mexican coffee.

The end result.
I felt bad - After all that work,
there was so much alcohol in it, I could barely drink it.

This was Revolution Day holiday weekend or something like that, so we caught a glimpse of a parade - lots of kids with fake (?) guns running around the streets.

Kids with guns in a parade. Viva Mexico!

All it took was one day in the sun, and I look like this!

We took a walk down a very scary suspension bridge.
Notice the look of fear on Kris' face.

We had a great time relaxing, and though the weather tempted us to maybe apply to teach at the American School there sometime in the future, the vast amounts of tourists and English-speaking folk convinced us otherwise.

Hope you're all having a wonderful time in cold Canada - it's *freezing* back here in Monterrey!
